Make Money ImageIf you are a student, you may find it difficult to work a job with a regular schedule. This is most likely because of your class schedule, the time you need to study, or any extra-curricular activities you have going on (including being social, of course). What you may not be aware of, however, is that there are online jobs available that do not require you to work a set schedule and that will allow you to work around your classes with ease.

These online jobs that you can choose from offer the flexibility to work as many or as little hours as you wish. Many do not require any special equipment other than your computer/laptop, microphone, and a reliable Internet connection. Five top online jobs include transcription services, data entry, freelance writing, tutoring, and human intelligence tasks.

Transcription Services
Taking an online transcription job is a way to make good use of the listening skills you are already using in your classes during lectures and taking notes. A transcription company will require that you also have a good command of the English language, have intermediate knowledge of office software, and above-average typing and computer skills. Most companies will require that you take and pass an online skills test of your typing skills, but most people should have no problem passing it.

You can find companies that offer medical, legal, and business transcription services by doing a search of online transcription companies. You will find that many companies do not require you to have any specialized experience in order to be hired.

Data Entry
Data entry is a good online job that can be worked around your schedule. You should have above-average typing skills and office software knowledge in order to be successful in doing this work. Jobs can often be found by doing an Internet search or by looking through Craigslist. You can expect to be required to take a typing skills test before being approved.

Freelance Writer
Being a freelance writer, or ghostwriter, can be very rewarding. There are many opportunities available to put your writing skills to work. You can write for blogs or for companies that provide content for websites. The possibilities are endless. Most will require you to submit a writing sample, which they will review and rate before you are able to accept writing jobs. You can find jobs on Craigslist and through such companies as Textbroker.com or InteractMedia.com.

Tutor
If you enjoy helping other students, then an online job as a tutor may be for you. There are several sites that will allow you to register your area of specialty and then work around your schedule. Some sites you may want to explore are Tutor.com or eHomeworkHelp.com. You may be subject to a background check if you tutor children.

Human Intelligence Tasks
If you prefer variety, then look into Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs). These are tasks that include data entry, writing, and transcription that can be performed in short time spans. Such sites to investigate for this are Mturk.com and Clickworker.com.

Being a student should not stop you from making extra money for your expenses. Take the time to investigate online job opportunities in which you can make money.
