How to Use Your Blog to Make Money Indirectly

Make Money With Your BlogBlogging is a method that you can use to share your thoughts and educate others, but it can also be an effective way to make money. If you have enough traffic to your blog or website, it can generate income through many different strategies. While many bloggers use ads and affiliate products to generate income directly from their sites, you can also make money from your site indirectly. In fact, there are several indirect ways to make money from your site.

1. Consulting

One way that you could use your blog to generate income and directly is through consulting. When you develop a quality blog with great information, it will potentially attract people who are interested in your area of expertise. You can simply put a contact email on your blog for those who are interested in talking to you about your consulting services. When people contact you, you can then sell your consulting services for your required rate. If you know how to help people in a specific way, this can be a very effective way to generate income.

2. Building Your Image

In some cases, you may be able to use your blog to build up your personal brand or image. If you are trying to come off as an expert in the field, having a good blog can make it possible. When visitors who are looking for something in your niche come across your blog, they will immediately perceive you to be an expert in that area. At that point, they’ll trust you and your brand image. In the future, those same individuals may be open to products and services that you have to offer. Once they trust you, they’ll be much more likely to open up their wallets at some point in the future.

3. Promoting a Book

When you are known as an authority in your field, you may be able to make money by selling a book offline. Once you write a book and then have it published, you’ll be able to make royalties off of every book sold. When you have a high-quality blog and regular visitors, you’ll potentially be able to increase your book sales through other avenues.

4. Speaking Engagements

If you’re not deathly afraid of public speaking, you could use your blog as a way to generate a nice income as a guest speaker. You have something worthy of talking about, conferences and seminars may be willing to pay you large sums of money to come and speak to guests.

Guest speakers typically make very good money and they are perceived as experts in their fields. If you develop your reputation well enough on your blog, it can open up all kinds of opportunities for speaking engagements. You may want to create a page on your blog about your public speaking endeavours and what you have to offer as a speaker. Before long, you may start getting more speaking engagement requests than you know what to do with. Working as a speaker can be very rewarding both emotionally and financially.

While many people get into blogging as a way to make extra money, they often leave money on the table because they are so focused on how to create money directly from their blogs. If you are willing to expand your options a little, you could increase your income exponentially.
